Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Hindu Dham Ashram in Ayodhya and paid tribute to Brahmalin Mahant Dr. Ramvilas Vedanti Ji Maharaj. He recalled his contribution in the Ramjanmabhoomi movement and the construction of Ram temple.

Ayodhya. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Hindu Dham Ashram in Ayodhya on Tuesday and paid homage to Brahmalin Mahant of Vashishtha Bhawan, Dr. Ramvilas Vedanti Ji Maharaj. On this occasion he remembered the life and contributions of Vedanti Ji Maharaj.

Vedanti ji’s life was dedicated to the Ramjanmabhoomi movement.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Dr. Ramvilas Vedanti Ji Maharaj, a senior member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Abhiyan and Mahant of Vashishtha Bhawan, Ayodhya, may not be physically among us today, but his entire life was dedicated to the development of Ayodhya Dham and the construction of the grand temple of Ramlala. He said that Vedanti Ji Maharaj’s entire life was dedicated to Ramkaj. It is a wonderful coincidence that while reciting the sacred story of Lord Shri Ram, he left his mortal body and resided in Saket.

Continuous active role in Ram Janmabhoomi movement

Chief Minister Yogi said that Vedanti Ji Maharaj had active participation in the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi liberation movement from the initial phase till its concrete form and successful outcome. He told that on November 25, Vedanti Ji Maharaj had a dignified presence in the flag hoisting ceremony in the grand temple built at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, which is a symbol of his lifelong dedication. The Chief Minister said that Vedanti Ji Maharaj played an active role in every program and campaign organized since the beginning of the movement in 1983.

Expressed condolences to the disciples and ashram residents

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that even though Vedanti Ji Maharaj is not physically among us today, he has come to Ayodhya to pay humble tribute to him as a resident of Saket and to express condolences to his disciples and ashram residents.

Vedanti Ji Maharaj had a deep connection with Gorakshpeeth.

Chief Minister Yogi said that Vedanti Ji Maharaj had a very close and intimate relationship with Gorakshpeeth. He told that in the year 1949, at the time of manifestation of Lord Shri Ram’s idol at Shri Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya Dham, the then Peethadhishwar of Gorakshpeeth, respected Mahant Shri Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj and revered Guru Baba Abhiram Das Ji of Vedanti Ji Maharaj were part of that historic campaign.

Contribution related to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya Committee

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the year 1983, when Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya Committee was formed and his revered Gurudev, Gorakshpeethadhishwar, revered Mahant Shri Avedyanath Ji Maharaj became the President of the committee, since then Dr. Ram Vilas Vedanti Ji Maharaj remained continuously associated with this movement as a senior member.

Be a witness to historical moments related to Ram temple

Chief Minister Yogi said that Vedanti Ji Maharaj was a witness to all the historical occasions related to the holy temple of Lord Shri Ram – foundation stone laying on 5 August 2020, Pran Pratishtha on 22 January 2024 and hoisting of the flag on 25 November 2025.

He said that it was the result of his life’s devotion and determination that he departed from this world seeing Ram Lalla seated, the construction of a grand temple, the divine-magnificent Ayodhya and singing the story of Ram.

Prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant him a place at the feet of Shri Ram.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath prayed to Lord Shri Ram to grant Vedanti Ji Maharaj a place at his feet. He said that he pays humble tribute to his memories and expressed full confidence that following the ideals of Vedanti Ji Maharaj, his disciples and followers will continue to be associated with the campaign of Ramkaj.

Saketvas happened during story telling in Madhya Pradesh

It is noteworthy that Dr. Ramvilas Vedanti Ji Maharaj was reciting Ramkatha in Bhathwa village near Lalgaon, Madhya Pradesh. The Katha was scheduled to be held till 17th December. After complaining of chest pain and nervousness on Saturday night, he was brought to Rewa, where he died on Monday during treatment at Super Specialty Hospital.
