Himachal Pradesh Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday stated that several districts of Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall till August 15. The weather department stated that the continuous rainfall has led to landslides in several key areas, leading to blockage of roads. The IMD also stated that the maximum temperature is likely to be reduced by two to four degrees Celsius in the upcoming days. The weather department has advised the residents and tourists to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi, are likely to witness rainfall in the late hours of Tuesday. It further stated that the Bilaspur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts will experience rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday. The IMD also advised the residents to maintain a distance from the water bodies, adding that the visibility in several key areas will remain very low.

“Kangra district recorded the highest rainfall at 180 mm, while Guler in Kangra registered 161 mm,” he noted. “A few places in Hamirpur also received heavy rain,” Sharma added. The weather department stated that since the start of the monsoon season, Himachal Pradesh has recorded 13 per cent above-normal rainfall, with Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti being the exceptions, recording less than the seasonal norm. The IMD has advised the tourists to check guidelines ahead of planning any visit to avoid any inconveniences.
