India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ carried out in the wee hours of May 6 struck nine terror camps while the death counts have reportedly risen to 26. The covert attack was aimed at wiping out the rampant cross-border terrorism and mostly, to avenge the Pahalgam terror attacks.
Most actors and technicians from the Malayalam film milieu came with an outpouring of support for India’s move. Actor Mammootty’s post adulating the army stood apart for its fervour. However, there were also anomalies from the industry who were least enthused with India’s move that they even decided to put their thoughts to words for the public to see.
‘Turbo’ movie actress Amina Nijam is now facing flak from Keralites for her Instagram story despising ‘Operation Sindoor’. By May 7 morning, hours after the precision attack made by India, Amina shared a post of a Pakistan woman, detailing Indian brutality in killing poor civilians including a child in Pakistan.
Hours later, Amina took down the post after it was confirmed fake. By this time, her comment box was filled with criticism by netizens.
The actress later posted her opinion on Instagram which only made things worse.
“Yes, I’m ashamed our country sought out killing as the solution when so many questions are still unanswered and the economic situation of the country is at its worst. Remember war doesn’t bring peace nor does killing. I don’t support it. People who think they have sought revenge for the Pahalgam attack have been manipulated. It’s a war we are getting into and the loss is only for the civilians.
I’m an Indian who thinks for the welfare of its people, not the one that speaks only when the ego is hurt”
People are bombarding her Instagram account with sharp criticism for the uncanny take on the matter and also for the heedless act of sharing fake news amidst shrewd misinformation warfare by Pakistan.
