IIT Mandi launches hybrid no-code AI agent course with Nagent AI

New Delhi: IIT Mandi’s Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) has teamed up with Nagent AI to roll out what they are calling a hybrid no-code AI agent building program. It is aimed at working professionals who want to learn how to create and deploy AI agents without needing months of coding or research. The course mixes academic input from IIT Mandi TIH with Nagent AI’s platform, which is already in use by more than 1,000 enterprise clients around the world.

The organisers say the program is meant to directly address India’s AI skills shortage, which is projected to cross one million unfilled positions by 2027. AI-related job openings are expected to touch 2.3 million by then, with demand outpacing supply by 51 percent. The aim is to help professionals and companies cut the time from concept to working AI system from several months to just days.

A hands-on format with a limited intake

The hybrid format involves a 23-hour curriculum that includes online sessions and in-person campus immersion at IIT Mandi TIH. Registration is open until August 30, 2025, but seats are capped at 30 participants. According to the organisers, the program will let attendees build fully deployable AI agents using Nagent AI’s Playground. They will also get access to hundreds of AI models, a no-code RAG pipeline, and other tools needed for production-ready systems.

Somjit Amrit, CEO of IIT Mandi TIH, said the initiative is meant to move beyond industry hype and focus on usable skills. “Buzzwords can bury real breakthroughs in hype, so we’re cutting straight across the substance,” he explained, adding that the workshop is designed to show how humans and AI agents can work together in practical ways.

Industry relevance and academic mentorship

The curriculum has been co-developed by IIT Mandi TIH faculty and Nagent AI experts. It covers topics such as agent orchestration, multi-agent collaboration, agentic prompting, and integrating proprietary data through the no-code RAG pipeline. Capstone projects will be mentored by industry names including Pratap Behera, Senthilraj Kalaimani, Siddharth Kanungo, and Anmol Gupta.

Behera, who is the co-founder and CEO of Nagent AI, said the collaboration “bridges the AI skill gap by empowering any professional to create and deploy powerful AI agents in days.” He added that the approach could help accelerate AI adoption across sectors by making the tools easier to use.

Option to take on enterprise projects

Participants who finish the course will have the option to take on enterprise projects via the Nagent AI community or build systems for their own companies. Top-performing projects could receive funding of up to ₹1 crore through iHub’s Call for Innovation pipeline. There will also be industry showcase slots for standout work.

Organisers say the program is in line with India’s “AI for All” strategy and could benefit areas like healthcare, supply chain, and customer experience. The goal is to compress the typical AI upskilling cycle, which can take between six months and a year, into a few weeks. This is meant to match the pace at which businesses now expect a return on AI investments.

With the no-code AI platform market forecast to grow from $4.9 billion (₹426 crore) in 2024 to $24.8 billion (₹2,157 crore) by 2029, the demand for accessible AI development skills is only expected to rise.
