The Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) has commenced its second half at the stunning Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah.
This marks the IGPL Invitational 2026, following six previous events, including one co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour. The tour will make one last international stop in the UAE before returning to India for the next eight tournaments.
A Star-Studded Lineup Featuring Bhullar and Kapur
Leading the field is Gaganjeet Bhullar, who holds the record for the most wins by an Indian on the Asian Tour with 11 victories. Other notable participants include Shiv Kapur, a four-time Asian Tour champion and gold medallist from the 2002 Asian Games; Olympian Udayan Mane; and Gaurav Ghei, a three-time Asian Tour winner. The lineup also features Indian-American Manav Shah, who recently competed in the US Open, along with IGPL champions Aman Raj, Sachin Baisoya, and Aryan Roopa Anand.
Emerging Talents and Local Stars Join the Competition
The event will also showcase three newcomers: Arjun Prasad, Joshua Grenville Wood, who became a UAE citizen three years ago, and Ravi Kumar. Prasad is known for his consistent performance, while Ahmad Skaik, a UAE professional, will also compete. Skaik recently won the 2025 GCC Golf Championship, achieving a remarkable 18-under-par total and leading the UAE to its first team gold medal.
CEO’s Remarks on the UAE Return and Al Hamra Course
Uttam Singh Mundy, the CEO of IGPL, expressed excitement about returning to the UAE, highlighting its status as a global golf hub. He noted the growth of the AM Green IGPL and the blend of youth and experience it brings. Mundy praised Al Hamra Golf Club, a 7,200-yard course managed by Troon Golf, which has hosted European Tour events, including the 2022 Ras Al Khaimah Classic won by Ryan Fox.
Inaugural ‘X-Golf’ Concept to Launch
The IGPL Tour will introduce an innovative format called ‘X-Golf’ during the event. Scheduled for 9 PM on the final day, this concept will feature teams seeded based on their performance over three rounds, culminating in semifinals and a final.
