Ingredients for Halwa

To make halwa-

  • ½ cup semolina
  • ½ cup milk (for soaking semolina)
  • 1½ tbsp ghee (for frying)
  • Dry fruits of your choice

For Caramel Sauce-

  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk

Vanilla Caramel Halwa Recipe

1. Soaking Semolina

  • Soak ½ cup semolina in ½ cup milk for 30 minutes. This makes the halwa more soft and nutritious.

2. Fry the semolina

  • Heat 1½ tbsp ghee in a pan.
  • Add soaked semolina and fry on low-medium flame.
  • Keep stirring until the semolina completely dries and becomes light brown and crumbly.

3. Prepare the Caramel Sauce

  • Heat 3 tablespoons ghee in another pan.
  • Add half a cup of sugar in it and let it melt on low flame.
  • When the sugar turns golden, slowly add 1 cup milk.
  • Keep stirring continuously to form a smooth and thick caramel sauce.
  • Keep the flame low so that the sugar does not burn.

4. Prepare the pudding

  • Now add this caramel sauce to the roasted semolina.
  • Mix well so that the caramel flavor gets absorbed into each grain.
  • Let the halwa cook for a while until it reaches the desired consistency.

5. Garnish and serve
