Sources who are aware of the case told the British newspaper ‘Financial Times’ that the conversation between the two leaders took place on 4 July. Trump’s conversation is completely different from his promise to end the Russia-Ukraine war in which he is talking about further inciting the war.
Just a day before a conversation with Jailonsky, Trump spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone. Trump’s conversation with Putin was allegedly not successful, after which Trump described the conversation with the Russian President as ‘bad’.
Trump had come to power by promising to get a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine and he said that he would stop the war within 24 hours of becoming President but it has not happened so far. Trump wants Russia-Ukraine War to stop as soon as possible and in the meantime he has also been nominated for the Nobel Prize. But according to Putin Trump, in a hurry, he is not ready for the ceasefire on his terms, so that Trump is expressing resentment on Putin.
On July 4, the very next day of talking to Putin, Trump called Jailonsky and asked if he provided weapons, will Jailonsky attack military bases in the inner areas of Russia, the capital Moscow.
Can Russia attack?
Trump allegedly asked, ‘Volodimir, can you attack Moscow? … Can you attack St. Petersburg too?’ To this, Jailonsky replied, ‘Absolutely. If you give us weapons, we can do it, ‘
Sources said, ‘Trump wants to make them (Russians) feel pain’ and forces Russia to come to the conversation table. However, at the moment it is not clear whether the US will give long -distance weapons of Ukraine to attack Moscow.
This call was followed by a meeting in Rome last week, where US authorities shared a list of potential long -range arms systems with Jailonsky. The US has currently banned direct foreign aid and it is believed that this weapon to Ukraine will be allegedly done through European colleagues.
On Sunday, Trump also announced that the US would send the Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine, but he did not make it clear that the US was going to give any other weapon to Ukraine.
According to the report, Ukraine has demanded a Tomahawk cruise missile from the US, which has a firepower of about 1,600 km. However, the Trump administration has objections to Ukraine’s operational capacity and no confirmation has been made at the moment to give missiles.
