Now, Dhanush has made an exciting announcement by sharing the character poster of Arun Vijay.
Dhanush drops Arun Vijay’s character poster from Idli Kadai
Taking to X (Formerly known as Twitter), the Raanjhanaa actor wrote, “The super talented @arunvijayno1 as Ashwin #Idlikadai.”
In the character poster, Arun is seen with specs, bearing an intense look. He is seen inside an apartment in an advanced city. The poster is enough for fans to be hooked to the poster and the upcoming film.

The film stars Dhanush in the lead, alongside Nithya Menen, with a powerhouse supporting cast that includes Arun Vijay, Prakash Raj, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj, R. Parthiban, Rajkiran, and Samuthirakani.

About Idli Kadai
Idli Kadai is a Tamil-language action drama written, directed, and co-produced by Dhanush under Wunderbar Films, in collaboration with Dawn Pictures, a new production house founded by Aakash Baskaran. Originally announced in September 2024 under working titles D52 and DD4, the film marks Dhanush’s 52nd film as an actor and fourth as a director. The title Idli Kadai was revealed two days after the project announcement. Principal photography began in Chennai and also included sequences shot in Thailand, wrapping up in April 2025. Idli Kadai is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 1, 2025.
Dhanush’s personal life and upcoming projects
Dhanush was previously married to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth for 18 years. The couple, who met during the filming of Kadhal Kondaen (2003), officially divorced in November 2024. They have two sons, Yatra and Linga.
Up next, Dhanush will appear in Tere Ishk Mein, co-starring Kriti Sanon. The Hindi-Tamil bilingual is described as a spiritual successor to the 2013 film Raanjhanaa and is scheduled for theatrical release on November 28, 2025.
