Are the hotels and locals safe?
According to the administration, the avalanche occurred in an area where many hotels are built near the mountain slopes. There was an impact in the surrounding areas, but there was no report of any hotel being completely damaged, nor were there any reports of injuries to any tourist or local resident. Officials are constantly monitoring the situation. Surprisingly, the avalanche occurred a day after officials had issued a warning of intense or high-risk avalanche in the district. That means the weather was already giving dangerous signals.
