ICC Players and Match Officials Areas Rules: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is caught in a major controversy between Asia Cup 2025. He has been facing serious allegations of indiscipline and protocol violation in the tournament. The PCB repeatedly violated the rules of the area of players and match officials. Due to which the ICC can take big action against him. All these incidents came to light after a handshake dispute against India.
Pakistan got stuck by making video
In fact, in the group stage, the Indian team did not join any opposing player after winning the match against Pakistan. After this incident, there was a ruckus in Pakistan and the PCB demanded action. The PCB match referee was wanted to remove Andy Paiyoft from the tournament. Due to which he refused to play the match against UAE. However, the match referee Andy Paiyoft later spoke on the entire incident and then Pakistan agreed to play the match. But during this time he made a big mistake.
Match referee Andy Picroft held a meeting with Pakistani captain and head coach in his operation room after threatening not to play the match against UAE. In which the media manager of PCB was also present. But PCB recorded a video of this meeting and later shared on social media. Due to which now he is seen getting caught in the matter of breaking the rules of PMOA.
What is the rules of PMOA?
Let me tell you, the stadium of players and match officials has a special area fixed, which PMOA does. The PMOA includes the dressing room used by the teams and match officials, the match area used by the teams (including dug-out), the room used by an umpire or match referee, the place to eat the food used by the teams and match officials and the place prescribed by the ICC anti-corruption manager.
In the PMOA area, no one gets entry without an acadection card, which is only with the players and the coaching staff. Apart from this, using communication devices in PMOA area is also against the rules. In such a situation, the PCB media manager’s going to Andy Picroft’s room and recording the video is against clear rules. At the same time, breaking the rules of PMOA area, one has to face heavy fines. Due to which action can be taken on Pakistan Cricket Board.
