The victims have alleged that people in the procession had liquor bottles in their hands and were dancing in the middle of the road which disrupted the traffic. As the duo asked to clear a path for their movement, it triggered a brawl as the mob beat them sticks and rods, resulting in their hospitalisation. Notably, the victims have also complained that a wristwatch and a gold chain went missing during the assault.
The police have filed a case against seven suspects from the wedding party, and have arrested one person so far. On the other hand, the crowd of the wedding procession who allegedly perpetrated the assault has filed a counter-complaint. The police are probing the case for further details.
