‘I made a fool of myself’: BJP’s JP Nadda attacks Rahul Gandhi over vote theft allegations

New Delhi: BJP chief JP Nadda has slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly making false claims regarding the vote theft of the ECI.

Taking to X, Nadda shared a video and gave a caption which reads in English, “I’m still standing right there… where my lie was caught, the truth came to light, and I made a fool of myself… I’m still standing right there.”

What has the video shown?

In the video, a woman can be seen informing Rahul Gandhi that the names of six members of her family have been omitted in the ECI’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar ahead of the Assembly elections in the state. Notably, the ECI has said that it will implement the SIR all over the country.

Later, in the video, the woman said that she was misinformed by someone and was told to meet Rahul for a solution. She said, “We are poor people, we believe whatever people tell us. We told Rahul Gandhi that our names were there in the old voters’ list, but not in the new one.” When asked if her name is on the news list, she replies affirmatively.

Rahul Gandhi attacks ECI again

Meanwhile, Rahul has again attacked the ECI, doubling down on his “vote chori” allegations and collusion of the ECI with the BJP. He said that ECI is accountable, adding that it is their theft and they were asking him for an affidavit. He further said that the entire country would ask for their affidavit.

While speaking on Day 2 of his ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, he said, “We are going to detect your ‘theft’ in every state, every Lok Sabha constituency, every Vidhan Sabha constituency and show it to the country.” He attacked the ECI and said, “Just like Modi ji announces special packages, EC has brought a new special package for Bihar – SIR.”
