‘I Have Three People In Mind’ – Kana Names Dream Targets After Third Promotional Victory

Japanese kickboxing standout Kana continues to build momentum inside ONE Championship. The former four-time K-1 Champion picked up her third victory under the promotion’s banner, defeating Yu Yau Pui via decision in an atomweight kickboxing clash at ONE Fight Night 46.

The bout took place Saturday, August 15, at Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium, with both strikers trading heavy fire across three competitive rounds. In the end, Kana’s superior output proved decisive on the judges’ scorecards.

Kana reflects on victory over Yu Yau Pui

Reflecting on her performance against Yu, Kana acknowledged that her game plan was not flawlessly executed but pointed to two key elements that ultimately swung the fight in her favor.

“For my game plan, I have to say, to be honest, it’s not like 100 percent executed, but most of the part of the game plan was executed. The first one is the fact that I initiated my attack by myself. And number two is that I put a lot of damage on my opponent,” Kana said.

Kana also praised the resilience of her Hong Kong opponent, noting that Yu’s toughness matched exactly what she had anticipated heading into the contest.

“The toughness of my opponent, Yu Yau Pui, was actually within my expectation, and she came out so tough, like I expected. I have an impression of Yu Yau Pui as someone who is a very good fighter, a very strong fighter,” she said.

The 34-year-old, representing Team Aftermath, holds a career record of 25-7. She previously challenged for the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title against Phetjeeja in 2025 but came up short via unanimous decision.

Kana names Phetjeeja, Vero and Antonia Prifti as targets

Looking ahead, Kana already has her eyes on several notable names within the stacked atomweight division, including a potential rematch with Phetjeeja, who is set to defend her kickboxing crown against Antonia Prifti at The Inner Circle 28 on August 28.

“Right now, mainly, I have three people in mind: Phetjeeja, Vero, Antonia Prifti. There’s another one I’m looking at, which is Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, who won against Phetjeeja. So if possible, I want to fight Allycia in Muay Thai rules,” Kana said.
