New Delhi: BJP leader K. Annamalai has strongly criticized MNS leader Raj Thackeray. He challenged Raj Thackeray to stop him from entering Mumbai. In fact, Thackeray had mocked the BJP leader by calling him “Rasmalai” and questioned Annamalai’s right to speak on matters related to Mumbai. This debate took place in connection with the Mumbai Municipal Corporation election campaign. At a press conference in Chennai, Annamalai alleged that she had received several threats and some people had threatened to cut off her legs.
Annamalai said, “Who are Aditya Thackeray and Raj Thackeray to threaten me? I am proud to be a farmer’s son. They held meetings just to insult me. I don’t know why I have become such an important person.” He further said, “Some people have written that if I come to Mumbai, they will cut off my feet. I will come to Mumbai. Try cutting my feet. If I was afraid of such threats, I would have stayed in my village. If I say that Kamaraj was one of the greatest leaders of India, does it mean that he is no longer a Tamil? If I say that Mumbai is a world-class city, does it mean that Maharashtrians did not make it? These people are just Are ignorant.”
On Sunday, Thackeray had criticized Annamalai for calling Mumbai an international city. Thackeray also referred to the slogan ‘Hatao Lungi, Bajao Pungi’ given by Bal Thackeray in the 1960s and 1970s. Raj Thackeray made this comment at the joint rally of UBT-MNS held in Mumbai. Thackeray also said that if people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh try to impose Hindi, they will be thrown out of Maharashtra. Thackeray said, “People of UP and Bihar should understand. I have no hatred for that language… but if you try to impose it, I will trample you. If the land and the language are destroyed, you will also be destroyed.”
