Hyderabad: A 26-year-old software employee took her own life by jumping into Hussain Sagar lake in the city, Tv9 Telugu reported.
The woman identified as Toshniwal Vijayalakshmi, was a native of of Kandlakoya village in Medchal district. She was reportedly under severe emotional distress, because of repeated difficulties in marriage prospects.
Failed marriage proposals:
According to the police, she lost her father at a young age and her mother, Saraswati, suffers from a mental illness. They currently reside in Maitrinagar, within the Kukatpally area and Vijayalakshmi was solely responsible for her care.
She received several marriage proposals, but the proposals failed as she insisted that her mother should live with her after marriage.
On the evening of January 31, she left home and did not return. Noticing her absence, one of her relatives lodged a complaint on Sunday, after which a case was registered.
On Monday, February 2, a young woman’s body was found floating on Hussain Sagar. Kukatpally police later confirmed that it was the body of the missing woman.
