Hyderabad Crime: Firing, Daylight Robbery Attempt At Jewellery Shop

Hyderabad’s Chandanagar neighbourhood was jolted by gunfire on Tuesday morning when four armed men barged into the Khazana Jewellery store in a brazen daylight robbery attempt.

It was just after 10:30 am, the shutters barely open, when the masked intruders strode in with weapons drawn. Staff members froze as the men shouted threats, demanding gold. Within moments, the calm of the showroom was shattered by the crack of a gunshot-an employee crumpled to the floor, wounded in the leg.

Even as panic spread, the gang turned their guns on the CCTV camera, blasting it in an attempt to erase their trail. Then, as suddenly as they had arrived, they fled empty-handed, according to early police reports.

“Three to four offenders attempted robbery with weapons. One person was injured and is receiving medical care,” confirmed a Chandanagar police spokesperson.

The injured employee was rushed to hospital, where he is recovering. Meanwhile, police are scouring the area for clues, retrieving footage from nearby surveillance systems and taking witness statements.

Authorities have appealed to residents for information, warning that the suspects are armed and dangerous. Patrols have been intensified as investigators work against the clock to track them down.

For now, the gleaming jewellery cases of Khazana stand untouched-but the memory of that morning’s terror lingers, a stark reminder that crime can strike in the heart of the city when least expected.
