In Guntur, a woman along with her lover murdered her husband. After rendering them unconscious by mixing sleeping pills in the biryani, both of them suffocated themselves with pillows. During investigation based on suspicion, the woman confessed to the crime.
Hyderabad: A woman took the life of her husband with the help of her lover in Chiluvuru village of Duggirala mandal in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Police said that after the murder, the woman tried to make it look like a normal death. The name of the deceased was Lokam Shiva Nagaraju and he was an onion trader. Nagaraju married Lakshmi Madhuri in 2007. Mangalagiri Rural CI Venkatabrahmam and Duggirala SI Venkat Ravi said the couple had two sons. Nagaraju’s wife Lakshmi Madhuri worked at the ticket counter of a cinema theater in Vijayawada. During this time, he met Gopi, a car driver from Sattenapalli. Despite being married, Madhuri had an illicit relationship with Gopi.
Was staying at home instead of going to work!
Due to illicit relationship, Madhuri got her husband’s onion business closed and sent him to Hyderabad for work. But Nagaraju returned from Hyderabad and started living in Chiluvuru. This matter became the cause of quarrel between husband and wife.
Sleeping pills mixed in biryani!
On January 18, Madhuri prepared biryani at home. He mixed 20 sleeping pills in the biryani, after eating which Nagaraju fell asleep. When Nagaraju was in deep sleep, at around 11:30 pm, Madhuri called Gopi. After this both of them together took the life of Nagaraju.
Police said that Gopi sat on Nagaraju’s chest so that he could not move. Then Madhuri killed her husband by pressing his face with a pillow. After this, both of them sat near Nagaraju’s dead body and watched obscene movies. As soon as Nagaraju’s death became certain, Gopi ran away from there. At around 4 in the morning, Madhuri woke up the neighbors and informed them of her husband’s death.
Friends saw bleeding from ears and nose
There were frequent fights between Nagaraju and Madhuri. The local people, who knew about Madhuri’s illicit relationship, were suspicious of Nagaraju’s death from the beginning. During the funeral, Nagaraju’s friends saw him bleeding from his nose and ears and informed his father. Suspecting his son’s death, Nagaraju’s father went to the police station and lodged a complaint. The last rites were stopped and the body was sent for postmortem.
Postmortem confirmed death due to broken ribs and suffocation. On the basis of suspicion, when Madhuri was taken into custody and interrogated, she confessed the truth. She confessed to committing this crime along with her lover Gopi. Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation is ongoing.
