One such shocking case has come to light from Akbarpur Medical College in Kanpur Dehat, which has raised serious questions on the security and administrative system of the hospital.
Accusation of recovery in the name of fine
On Monday, 8 months pregnant woman Ruksar had reached Akbarpur Medical College with her husband Usman. Meanwhile, Rohit Yadav, who is said to be working in a medical college, accused Usman of consuming gutkha and asked him to pay a fine of Rs 500. Usman denied the allegation and refused to pay the money, after which the dispute escalated.

Accusations of abuse, snatching mobile phone and forcibly withdrawing money
The victim couple alleges that Rohit Yadav first abused Usman, then snatched his mobile and forcibly took out Rs 340 from his pocket. The matter did not stop here, rather the situation became even more serious.

Serious allegation of kicking a pregnant woman in the stomach
Ruksaar says that when she protested against the misbehavior with her husband, Rohit Yadav became aggressive. It is alleged that during this time he kicked Ruksar in the stomach. After being kicked, Ruksaar remained lying on the ground for about ten minutes. During this period, her condition deteriorated and the life of the child in the womb is also said to be in danger. The woman is in shock after the incident.
Accused makes illegal extortion daily: Husband
Usman alleges that Rohit Yadav makes illegal recovery from patients and their attendants on daily basis in the Medical College premises. Extorting money by threatening has become his habit. After the incident, he lodged a complaint with the police, but initially no concrete action was taken.
Statement of victim’s husband
Usman told that he had come to the district hospital to see his wife. There a person accused him of consuming gutkha by forcefully opening his mouth and asked for a receipt to be issued. When protest was made, the mobile was snatched and Rs 340 kept in the pocket were taken out. When his wife intervened, he was kicked in the stomach, which worsened his condition.
Minister Pratibha Shukla took cognizance
As soon as information about the case was received, Minister of State of Uttar Pradesh Government Pratibha Shukla reached Akbarpur Medical College and met the victim. After his intervention, Ruksaar’s medical examination was conducted. The minister assured a fair investigation into the entire matter and strict action against the culprit.
Police engaged in investigation, questions on role of administration
At present the police is investigating the case on the basis of the complaint of the victim. At the same time, after such an incident came to light in the medical college campus, the role of the college administration is also under question. Now it has to be seen what action is taken against the culprits after investigation and whether the safety of patients can be ensured in the hospital premises.
