Actor Vishal Jethwa has expressed enormous satisfaction and excitement as Homebound, produced by Dharma Productions, moves one step closer to a probable nomination for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards.

Homebound Captivates Global Audience
Homebound portrays the story of Chandan and Shoaib, two friends facing profound societal inequalities based on caste and religion. Their friendship is tested as the COVID-19 epidemic disrupts their lives, bringing emotional and sociological complexity to the story. This is a proud time for the entire team, as the film continues to receive incredible love and admiration from people around the world. The shortlist is the final step in the Oscars process, in which 15 films proceed to the voting round, bringing Homebound closer to a possible nomination to be announced on January 22.

Homebound made its worldwide debut at Cannes 2025. This film marked Neeraj Ghaywan’s return to Cannes nearly a decade after his breakout feature Masaan premiered. While Homebound was India’s official Oscar submission, it was also shown at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).
