Bhopal. The people of the state have expressed gratitude for the launch of the nationwide HPV vaccination campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Ajmer, Rajasthan. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, participating in the program virtually from New Delhi, said that this initiative is a big and historic step towards the health security of the daughters of the country. He said that this campaign is part of the national resolve to protect women and adolescent girls from serious diseases like cancer.
Big initiative to save daughters from cervical cancer
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking concrete steps to protect daughters from serious diseases like cervical cancer. The HPV vaccination campaign is an important effort in that direction. Under this statewide campaign in Madhya Pradesh, a target has been set to vaccinate about 8 lakh adolescent girls. For this, more than 7 lakh 58 thousand 500 vaccine doses have been received from the Central Government.
This vaccine will be administered to those girls who have completed 14 years of age and those who are less than 15 years of age. They will be given only one dose. This vaccine, which costs around Rs 4000 in the market, will be made available completely free of cost in government health institutions. This campaign will be run for the next three months. The state government is continuously committed to the health, dignity and secure future of women and girls.
HPV vaccine: effective way to prevent cervical cancer
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that cervical cancer is one of the major cancers in women. HPV vaccine is considered a very effective and safe solution to prevent this. For this purpose, a large-scale vaccination campaign is being conducted in the state. He appealed to the parents to get their daughters vaccinated for a bright and cancer-free future and make this campaign a success.
Launch of ‘Mission Madhuhari’: Special facility for Type-1 diabetic children
The state government is also launching “Mission Madhuhari” to strengthen health services. Under this scheme, weekly special clinics will be conducted in all district hospitals for children and youth suffering from Type-1 diabetes. In these clinics, insulin testing and consultation with specialist doctors will be available at one place, thereby providing better and convenient treatment to the patients.
Information about state level launch, eligibility and process from Bhopal
The state level HPV vaccination campaign was launched under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister (Health) Shri Rajendra Shukla from Dr. Kailashnath Katju Hospital, Bhopal. It was told in the program that girls who have completed 14 years and are below 15 years of age will be eligible for vaccination. Also, girls who complete 15 years of age within 90 days of the launch of the campaign will also be considered eligible.
This vaccination will be completely voluntary and parental consent will be required for it. 0.5 ml as per prescribed standard. A single dose will be given as an intramuscular injection. Vaccination will be done only in government health centers – Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Primary Health Center, Community Health Center, Sub Health Center, District Hospital and Government Medical Colleges. After vaccination, the girl will be kept under observation for 30 minutes. Vaccination facility will be available daily during the campaign period.
