Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper: IRCTC ticket price, cancellation charge

New Delhi: India’s first Vande Bharat Express Sleeper train has been started for commercial services. The train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, 2026. The PM flagged off the first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train between Howrah and Guwahati (Kamakhya). He also virtually flagged off the Guwahati (Kamakhya)–Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. The trains will run six days a week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train will halt at Howrah, Bandel, Nabadwip, Katwa, Azimganj, New Farakka, Malda Town, Aluabari Road, New Jalpaiguri, Jalpaiguri Road, New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, New Bongaigaon, Rangiya, and Kamakhya.

Vande Bharat Sleeper Ticket Cancellation rules

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train tickets can be booked via IRCTC. The Indian Railways has said that if the tarin tickets are cancelled 72 hours or earlier after the train leaves, 25 per cent of the ticket price will be deducted. The rest of the price will be refunded.

If a passenger cancels his Vande Bharat Sleeper ticket more than 72 hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train, the Indian Railways will levy a cancellation charge and 25 per cent would be deducted of the total fare.

If the train ticket is cancelled between 72 hours and upto 8 hours before the train departs from its source, there will be 50 per cent cancellation charge.

However, if the ticket cancellation in less than 8 hours of the scheduled departure of the train, no refund will be issued.
