Sneh Rana said how she worked with India bowling coach Avishkar Salvi to stage a stupendous comeback in Women’s ODIs. The 31-year-old spinner recently made her comeback in the 50-over format after more than a year in the tri-nation series in Sri Lanka that Harmanpreet Kaur’s India won.
In five matches, Rana picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.73 with a five-wicket haul against South Africa to her name. The veteran said that given the conditions, bowling fuller and taking the pace off the ball did the trick for her.
“I had a word with our bowling coach, Avishkar sir He told us what kind of deliveries would work there. The ball was coming onto the bat really nicely, so we were advised to cut off the pace and bowl fuller,” Rana told PTI Videos.

Not only did Rana finish as the top wicket-taker of the series, but also won the Player of the Series award. and Rana played a crucial role with figures of 9.2-1-38-4.
“I am extremely happy, glad that I got this opportunity and coming back in blues after so long, it feels so good to don this jersey again,” Rana said
“Winning momentum is always good. Performing in such conditions under pressure gives you extra confidence and experience.
“And personally, after such a long period, to perform for my country and be named Player of the Series – yes, it has helped me a lot,” Rana added.
In 32 ODIs since her debut in 2014, Rana has taken 44 wickets at an economy rate of 4.64 with two four-wicket hauls and a five-wicket haul.
