After this, both his kidneys had stopped working and the condition continued to deteriorate. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition of infection.
Role played in many parties
Satyapal Malik started his political career as an MLA in the 1970s. In five decades of politics, he took up many parties and took over different responsibilities. He was also a Rajya Sabha member and later the governors of states like Goa, Jammu and Kashmir and Meghalaya were also made. In Jammu and Kashmir, he came into the limelight at the time of the removal of Article 370 while being the Governor. He made many impeccable statements many times, due to which he remained the subject of discussion between both power and the opposition.
In the affidavit, he himself told how much property it was
Satyapal Malik contested the Lok Sabha elections from Baghpat on a BJP ticket in 2004. At that time, he gave the details of his property in the affidavit given to the Election CommissionAccording to the bank accounts of Malik and his dependents, a total amount of more than Rs 19 lakh was deposited. Apart from this, he had invested 2 lakh 10 thousand rupees in shares, debentures and bonds. His movable property also included 180 grams of gold jewelery, which was priced at that time. Overall, the value of his movable property was more than Rs 22 lakh.
Apart from this, Malik had 21.2 acres of agricultural land as immovable property, which was valued at more than Rs 13 lakh in 2004. Apart from this, he also had a building worth more than Rs 40 lakh. In this way, his total assets were more than Rs 76 lakh. However, he also had a loan of more than Rs 3 lakh.
Let me tell you that this detail is of 2004, and since then there is a possibility of change in their property. However, based on publicly available information, it can be assumed that Malik gave priority to simplicity and honesty in his life. His property was relatively low compared to his contemporary leaders, which reflects his simplicity life.
