How Much Prize Money India Pocketed After Winning Champions Trophy 2025

India beat New Zealand by 4 wickets on Sunday (March 9) to win the Champions Trophy 2025 title. In the final match played at the Dubai International Cricket, the world No. 1 ODI team rode on captain Rohit Sharma’s 76-run knock to chase down the target of 252 runs in 49 overs for the loss of six wickets.

Apart from Rohit, Shreyas Iyer scored 48 runs, and wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 34 runs from 33 balls.

The win in the nail-biting match helped India become the Champions Trophy winners for the third time in nine editions, and Rohit Sharma’s men pocketed the prize money of $2.24 million (Rs 19.45 crore) apart from the trophy.

Runners-up New Zealand were awarded $1.12 million (Rs. 9.72 crore), and the two losing semifinalists-Australia and South Africa-received $560,000 (Rs. 4.86 crore) each.

A total of eight teams participated in the 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy, which was played over 19 days in three venues across Pakistan and one in Dubai.

Bangladesh and Afghanistan finished third in their respective groups, and they received prize money of $350,000 (Rs 3.04 crore) each, whereas Pakistan and England earned $140,000 (Rs. 1.21 crore) apiece.

The total prize pool of the 2025 Champions Trophy was worth $6.9 million (Rs. 59.9 crore), which was a whopping 53 percent increase from the 2017 edition of the tournament.

Pakistan entered the 2025 Champions Trophy as defending champions, but under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership, they failed to win any match. The Men in Green went down by 60 runs against New Zealand in the tournament opener played at National Stadium in Karachi on February 19, and in the second Group A match, India secured a six-wicket win over them.

India, on the other hand, won all five matches played in the Champions Trophy 2025. Rohit Sharma’s men defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan by 6 wickets each in the first two Group A matches, and in the two knockout matches (semifinal and final)-India secured wins by four wickets each over Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to that, India also defeated the Black Caps by 44 runs in the Group A match played in Dubai on March 2.
