Equity analyst Bhaskar Chakraborty, Equity analyst of Jeffers, said in a media report that a marketing margin of Rs 8.1/11.2 per liter on diesel/petrol is far ahead of standard level in FY 2026. There is scope for positive changes in our/consensus estimates in FY 2026 from such increased marketing margin, even if the government increases some excise duty.

This boom in profit has come at a time when oil prices remain below $ 70 per barrel since March, and OPEC+ has increased 2.2 MBPD in supply between April-25 and September-25. According to the International Energy Agency, the calendar year 25 is estimated to increase the demand for only 0.68 MBPD, while the calendar is expected to supply a 1.5 MBPD more in the fourth quarter of the year 25.
