The MiG-21 fighter plane of the Indian Air Force finally retired. They have become part of the history of the Air Force. The Indian Airforce had about 28 MiG-21 bison fighter planes in the last two squadrons of MiG 21 i.e. number 23 (panthers) and number 3 (cobra). Retired MiG-21 Bisan aircraft will now fly from Chandigarh to Nal Airbase. After retirement, the number-3 squadron cobra and number-23 squadron panthers of these aircraft will be plated for the number, that is, along with the number of these two squadrons of MiG-21, their legacy will also be freeze. Now the new aircraft who come to the squadron will be known by these names.
What will happen to Mig-21 retired?
Retired MiG-21 aircraft will be thoroughly investigated when the plane airbase arrives. A detailed report will be made. The parts of these aircraft which are fine and worth using will be taken out. The rest will be scored. These parts of retired aircraft can be given to engineering colleges. They can be used to keep training in training, army museum or war Memorial.

874 MIG-21 joined the Air Force, how many retired?
More than 874 MiG-21 were included in the Indian Air Force one by one. These included MiG-21 FL, MiG-21M and upgraded MiG-21 Bison. When technical problems came, these aircraft began to retire one by one. The MiG-21 fighter jet was being retired in a phased manner. Now these have been completely retired. Many of the previously retired MiG-21 fighter jets have been kept for performance.
MiG-21 Single Seater Fighter Jet has been placed at the Indian Air Force Heritage Museum in Chandigarh. It is the first Air Force Heritage Center in the country. Apart from this, IAF Museum, Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, Palam Air Force Station, Nico Park near Sooldlake in Kolkata, Chandrashekhar Park of Prayagraj, HAL’s Biju Patnaik Aeronautics Museum in Odisha and HAL Heritage Center and Aerospace Museum in Bangalore have also been displayed in Mig-21.

These fighters will make up for MiG-21
After the retirement of MiG-21 fighter jet, the number of squadron of Indian Air Force will be reduced to 29. In order to make up for them, the initial 40 LCA fighter jets are being included in the Indian Air Force. Apart from these, indigenous fighter jet Tejas will be included in the Indian Air Force instead of MiG-21. The number 3 squadron of MiG-21 will get the first LCA Mark-1A fighter jet. LCA Mark 1A fighter jets are equipped with more advanced avionics and radar than early LCA jets. The new LCA Mark-1A will have more and more indigenous material. They will be equipped with more than 65 percent indigenous materials.
Indian Air Force has made a deal of Rs 48 thousand crore for 83 Tejas MK-1A with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in February 2021 itself. After this, a deal of Rs 62,370 crore has been made for the purchase of 97 and Tejas-1A fighter jet.

Apart from these, Rafale Fighter Jet has also been included in the Indian Air Force in July 2020. Apart from these, MiG-29, French Mirage and Jaguar aircraft in Britain are already included in the Air Force. Indian Airforce has prepared a plan to upgrade Sukhoi-30 fighter jet with Russian technology made of existing fighter jet to meet the shortage of aircraft. The Air Force has around 260 Sukhoi-30. Of these, 200 jets will be upgraded and converted into nearly Fifth Generation Fighter Jet. There is a plan to spend 25 thousand crores on these.
