NSE IX Global Access: Your Gateway to International Stock Investing for Indians

Balasubramaniam said the initiative would allow people in India to invest in more diversified markets.

The Global Access Platform has been designed to manage outbound investments as per the rules of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). This set up allows resident individuals to remit up to USD 250,000 per financial year, including foreign investments.

As per the media report, Balasubramaniam said the entire transaction cycle—from onboarding to trading—has been structured in accordance with existing regulations.

The Global Access Platform has a unique feature, which it allows to trade fractionally, i.e., allowing investors to buy parts of high-priced global stocks instead of a whole share.

The MD of NSE International Exchange said that the feature will allow retail investors seeking exposure to global technology majors. For example, Apple is priced at USD 272. If there are USD 31 in our account, we can fractionalise it.
