Bihar News: On the final day of the monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, political debate intensified over the presence of public representatives in the House.
JD-U chief spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar questioned the absence of the BJP MLC and the singer, Pawan Singh, from the House. He also targeted RJD leader and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, for remaining absent in the session.
Kumar said in a democratic setup, the House is the most important platform for raising public voices, and people’s representatives should regularly participate in its proceedings.
House Is Not Just To Get Facilities And Salary: Kumar
“The House is not merely a place for receiving salaries and benefits. It is the responsibility of public representatives to attend the House and raise public issues and strengthen the democratic system. Participating in House proceedings is an important opportunity for new members to learn and understand parliamentary rules,” he said.
Kumar said the continued absence of any elected representative cannot be justified. It is their responsibility to uphold the trust with which the public has elected their representatives, he added.
Kumar Advises Pawan To Participate In Proceedings
The JD-U leader expressed hope that Singh will regularly participate in the proceedings of the Legislative Council and raise public issues in the House. However, on the last day of the monsoon session, Singh arrived at the Legislative Council. Several senior BJP and JD-U leaders were also present with him.
After arriving at the House, Singh also paid a courtesy visit to Legislative Council Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh.
Kumar Questions Tejashwi Yadav’s Absence
Kumar slammed Tejashwi for his absence from the House. He alleged that Tejashwi Yadav was not seen in the House proceedings during the entire monsoon session. According to Kumar, the post of Leader of the Opposition carries constitutional responsibility, and the presence of the person holding this position in the House is extremely important. He sarcastically asked where Tejashwi Yadav is; whether he has gone to mediate a war between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
