A horrific road accident occurred in Rampur sub-division of Shimla district late on Friday night. Here an uncontrolled dumper hit a building and another vehicle parked on the roadside.
In this accident, the dumper driver died tragically on the spot. Meanwhile, the police reached the information and registered the case and started investigation.
There was a huge explosion at midnight
This accident happened in Rampur area at around 12:20 in the night. Giving information about the incident, complainant Dinesh Kumar (resident of village Chiksa, Post Office Devathi) said that he heard a loud bang near Ankush Workshop at night. When the villagers reached the spot, they saw that the dumper (HP06C-5542) had collided with Kapoor Mehta’s building. The collision was so strong that the building was badly damaged and another car parked nearby (HP755755) was also badly damaged.
The cause of the accident was carelessness and speeding.
On receiving the information, the police team immediately reached the spot and relief work was started. With the help of JCB machine, the dumper was removed from the building and brought to the road. When the cabin was searched after bringing the dumper on the road, Rajat (26 years old, resident of Nepal) was found dead behind the driver’s seat. Deceased Rajat was working as a driver with local contractor Vikesh Chauhan. Preliminary police investigation has revealed that the accident occurred due to the carelessness and speeding of the driver. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem and further legal action is being taken.
