Punjab Women’s Commission summoned Yo Yo Honey Singh and Karan Aujla on August 11 for objectionable lyrics songs (Millionaire, Mf Gabhru); Police has also been instructed to take action.
Punjab Women Commission Summons Honey Singh: Punjab State Women’s Commission for using objectionable Lyrics to singer Yo Yo Honey Singh and Karan Aujla (Karan Aujla), “Millionaire” and “MF Gabhru” (MF GABHU SONGS) Has summoned. In the summons issued on 7 August, the Commission has asked to take immediate action against him. Both singers have been asked to appear before the Commission on August 11. The Women’s Commission took self -cognizance of the case and sent a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab to take action against the singers and advise them and others to avoid such speaking songs in the future.
Women’s Commission chairperson Raj Lali Gill objected to the lyrics of the songs ‘Millionaire’ and ‘MF Gabhru’, saying that it has been presented very wrong about women. These songs create serious concerns. In a letter to the DGP, he said that the lyrics of both songs are derogatory towards women, promoting malice. The Commission said that both songs promote stereotypes and use pornographic language which is beyond ‘accepted boundaries’.
The Commission further said that music should not be used to reduce women and low. All this began when Karan Aujla released his song, MF G Bhagru, released and found millions of likes in a short time.
