The Honda ZR-V hybrid SUV is set to go on sale in India next week (20/21 July, 2026). It will be Honda’s new flagship SUV in India, which will be sold in limited numbers as a CBU (completely built unit). Pre-bookings for the SUV are already underway nationwide. With an estimated price ranging between Rs 40 lakh – Rs 50 lakh, the ZR-V will be positioned against the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.
Hybrid Powertrain, Mileage & Top Speed
The major highlight of the Honda ZR-V is its 2.0L, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual motor strong hybrid system. It will be Honda’s first hybrid SUV and the brand’s second hybrid offering in India. This 2.0L strong hybrid powertrain delivers a maximum power of 184bhp and 315Nm of torque.
Transmission duties are handled by an e-CVT gearbox, while a FWD (front-wheel drive) system comes as standard. Honda claims that the ZR-V accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 172kmph. The SUV returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.79kmpl. Globally, the ZR-V is available with a 180bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol hybrid powertrain along with an AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
Premium Interior & Features
The Honda ZR-V comes loaded with premium features. Similar to the global-spec model, the India-bound version offers a dual screen setup comprising a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
Other key features include a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, a 4-way powered co-driver’s seat and more. However, it misses out on features such as a sunroof and ventilated seats.
On the safety front, the new Honda hybrid SUV offers eight airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite.
Dimensions & Colour Options
The overall length, width and height of the ZR-V stand at 4,567mm, 1,840mm and 1,621mm respectively. The SUV sits on a 2,655mm long wheelbase and offers a boot space of up to 1,313-litres with second row folded. Buyers will be able to choose from four exterior colour options – Platinum White Pearl, Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.
