The is the most affordable motorcycle from the brand in India, focusing on long-term value and low running costs. Priced at Rs 65,642 (Ex-Showroom Delhi), it is not meant to be a fancy, feature-packed commuter. That said, you might be wondering what exactly it gets, so here’s the full breakdown:
Convenience Features

The Shine 100’s focus on core utility means some modern conveniences are absent. The instrument console is a fully analogue unit, displaying only a speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge. There’s not even a tripmeter. We’d have liked it if Honda had given a tripmeter and a clock as they would’ve been really practical additions. There are no digital elements, USB charging port, or Bluetooth connectivity – features that are beginning to appear in the commuter segment.
The tyres are tubed too, despite the bike running on alloys. Honda should’ve given tubeless tyres as they would’ve made dealing with punctures a whole lot easier.
Safety Features

The Honda Shine 100 comes equipped with a Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard. When the rear brake is applied, CBS distributes braking force to both the front and rear wheels, helping to stabilize the motorcycle and shorten stopping distances. Another key safety addition is the side-stand engine inhibitor, which prevents the engine from starting if the side stand is engaged while the bike is in gear, preventing accidental roll-offs.
While these features add a layer of safety, the braking hardware itself is basic. The Shine 100 uses drum brakes on both the front and rear wheels, with no option for a disc brake.

BikeDekho Says

The Honda Shine 100 makes a strong case for itself based on low running cost and light weight rather than impressing buyers with features. While it has the basics in place, we’d have liked if Honda had added a few more practical elements. That said, if you’re looking for an affordable commuter that’s easy to handle, worry-free in terms of reliability, and just gets the job of moving you from point A to B done, then the Shine 100 is a solid option.
