Honda has opened bookings for the new ADV 160 in India, with prices starting at ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The adventure-style maxi-scooter brings rugged styling, premium features and a 160cc-class engine to Honda’s scooter portfolio. More importantly, the ADV 160 is Honda’s first E85 flex-fuel compliant scooter, allowing it to run on fuel blends containing up to 85% ethanol. The scooter will be available through Honda BigWing dealerships.
Powering the ADV 160 is a 157cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing around 16 BHP and 14.7 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with an automatic V-Matic transmission and uses Honda’s eSP+ technology. The scooter weighs around 133 kg, gets a 780 mm seat height and offers 165 mm of ground clearance, making it suitable for both urban riding and occasional rough-road use.
The ADV 160 gets adventure-inspired styling with a tall adjustable windscreen, LED lighting and a muscular body design. It rides on a 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheel setup, while suspension duties are handled by a 31 mm telescopic front fork and twin rear shocks. Braking hardware includes a 240 mm front disc with single-channel ABS and a rear drum brake.
In terms of features, the ADV 160 gets a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts and music controls. It also features switchable traction control, while practicality comes from a 27-litre under-seat storage compartment and an additional 2-litre front storage space with a charging port. The two-position windscreen further adds to its touring-friendly character.
With its ₹ 1.70 lakh starting price, the Honda ADV 160 enters the growing premium maxi-scooter space in India and takes on models such as the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160. The combination of adventure-focused styling, a liquid-cooled engine, generous storage and premium technology makes it one of the more distinctive scooters in its segment. Bookings are now open, with the ADV 160 available through Honda BigWing dealerships.
