People feed sweets, papad and chips along with Gujiya to the guests. In many homes, preparation of papad starts much in advance. So, you can make three types of papad at home for Holi.

Moong Dal Papad

You can make Moong Dal Papad for Holi. It is not only tasty but also easy to digest. Let’s learn how to make it-

  • 250 grams moong dal or as much as you need
  • 4-5 black peppers
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • a little asafoetida
  • A little papad khar or baking soda
  • salt as per taste

method of making

  • First of all, clean the moong dal thoroughly and grind it to make flour. Add black pepper, cumin, asafoetida, papad khar or baking soda and salt to the flour.
  • Add lukewarm water and knead a stiff dough. The harder the dough, the crispier the papad will be.
  • Apply some oil on the kneaded dough and knead it well in a heavy mortar or mortar for 10-15 minutes. This makes the dough soft.
  • Make long balls of dough and cut them into small pieces. Apply some oil on the balls and roll them thinly with a rolling pin.
  • Spread the rolled papads on a cotton cloth. After keeping them in good sunlight for 1-2 days, when they dry completely, store them.

Ingredients for Aloo Papad

  • 2 large raw potatoes
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • finely chopped coriander

method of making

  • Peel both the raw potatoes thoroughly and cut them into small pieces. Wash them with water 2-3 times. Cook the potato pieces in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water and one teaspoon rock salt on medium flame for 2 whistles.
  • When the potatoes cool down, grind them well in the mixer and prepare the batter. Add cumin, green chilli, coriander and salt as per taste to the batter and mix well.
  • Spread the batter in small portions on the plastic sheet with the help of a spoon. When they are completely dry, store them. For Holi, you can cook them on direct flame instead of frying them in oil.

Sabudana Papad

  • Sago
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • Ghee
  • Water

Sabudana Papad Recipe

  • Soak sago for 3-4 hours. Then grind the soaked sago in a mixer. Then, heat water in a pan. Add rock salt and black pepper powder to it. Add ground sago to this water and cook until it thickens.
  • Spread the mixture on a greased plate and let it dry in the sun. After drying, store the papad. On the occasion of Holi, you can fry it along with other papads in oil or ghee and serve it to the guests.
