Actually, the tradition of making Gujiya on Holi is quite old. People offer it during puja, because Gujiya and Chandrakala are offered to Lord Krishna in Radharaman temple. Now the methods of making this traditional sweet have also changed a lot, people make it in many different flavours. From Gulkand Gujiya to Chocolate Gujiya, many are being liked, but Mawa Gujiya is definitely made. In this article you will know how you can make tasty Gujiya without sugar and flour.

To make healthy Gujiya, you will need 1 cup of wheat flour, if you want, you can also take half a cup of almond flour along with it or you can add oats flour. To knead the dough, you will need lukewarm water and 2 to 2.5 tablespoons of desi ghee.
Ingredients for Gujiya Stuffing
If you want to use mawa then you can take it as per requirement and along with it take half cup of semolina. Along with this, you need 2 teaspoons finely chopped almonds, 2 teaspoons finely chopped pistachios and cashews, 1 teaspoon green cardamom powder, 3 tablespoons desiccated dry coconut. For sweetness in Gujiya, use date powder instead of sugar or you can also use dates.

Healthy Gujiya Recipe
- First of all, add ghee to the flour and mash it well with your hands so that it becomes smooth.
- After this, knead a dough of normal texture with lukewarm water. Cover it with a moist muslin cloth and keep it aside.
- To prepare the filling, first roast the semolina in some ghee until it turns golden brown.
- Take out the semolina in a plate and in the same pan, fry the mawa on medium and slow flame while stirring continuously.
- When the garland cools down, add semolina to it. Along with this, all the dry fruits, cardamom powder and date powder are also added to it.
- If date powder is not available then take out the seeds of dates and grind it in a grinder and then mix it in the filling. In this way the filling of Gujiya will be ready.

- Now remove the cloth from the dough, make small balls out of it and roll them out and fill the filling in it. Keep in mind that while preparing the Gujiya, keep it covered so that a crust does not form.
- Seal all the Gujiyas with a thick solution of flour and water so that there is no possibility of the edges opening while frying.
- Once all the Gujiyas are ready, add oil to the pan and fry all the Gujiyas on medium flame until they turn golden.
- Now either fry these Gujiyas in air fryer at 180 degree centigrade for 10 to 15 minutes after greasing them with light oil.
