Hyderabad: An unidentified individual issued a threat, claiming that a bomb had been planted at the Uppal Metro Station, Tv9 Telugu reported.
Alerted by the anonymous phone call, the metro staff promptly notified the police, who swiftly deployed dog squad and bomb squad teams to the scene. Security personnel took complete control of the station and conducted a meticulous, inch-by-inch search of the entire premises.
Hoax threat to instil fear in public:
Passengers were evacuated from the station, and metro train services were temporarily suspended for security reasons.
The police confirmed that no explosive devices were found during the search and that it was done deliberately to instil fear in public. An investigation is underway, in collaboration with the Cyber Crime Unit to identify the caller.
They have warned that strict action will be taken against those making such fake calls.
