Music director Anirudh Ravichander is set to marry Kavya Maran, daughter of Sun Group Chairman Kalanidhi Maran and owner of the IPL franchise SunRisers Hyderabad, with their wedding reception scheduled to be held in Chennai on November 21.
The wedding news was confirmed after the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office posted on X that Kalanidhi Maran and his wife, Kavery Maran, had met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills to invite him to the wedding reception.
“The wedding reception of Kavya Maran and Anirudh Ravichander is scheduled to be held in Chennai on November 21,” the post said.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the wedding ceremony will take place in Greece on November 11.
Reports about Anirudh planning to marry Kavya Maran first surfaced in 2025. In June that year, the music director dismissed the rumors in a post on X, saying, “Marriage ah? lol … Chill out guys. Please stop spreading rumors.”
The speculation had gathered momentum after a post on Reddit claimed that the two had been dating for more than a year and were considering marriage.
The wedding news comes as director Nelson Dilipkumar’s ‘Jailer 2’, starring Rajinikanth and featuring music by Anirudh, has emerged as a worldwide hit.
