After all, what is Emergency Landing Facility (ELF)?
ELF i.e. Emergency Landing Facility is actually a special airstrip which is built on the National Highway. In case of war, natural disaster or any emergency, fighter jets, transport aircraft and helicopters can land or take-off from here. The facility is capable of handling fighter aircraft up to 40 tonnes and heavy transport aircraft up to 74 tonnes.
