Nepal Beat West Indies T20 Series
Nepal defeated the West Indies in the T20 series while carrying out the biggest upsurge in cricket history and the most amazing results. In the first match of the series, Nepal, who was shocked by the West Indies, trampled the Caribbean team badly in the second match. In the second match played in Sharjah, Nepal defeated West Indies by a big margin of 90 runs and took a 2–0 lead in the 3 match series and took it to its name. Nepal killed West Indies before 100 runs on the basis of sensational fielding with excellent bowling in this match. With this, for the first time, Nepal achieved the feat of winning the T20 series against a full member team.
For this T20 series being played in UAE, West Indies had given rest to many of their senior players and sent less experienced teams with some new players. Nevertheless, the team had many senior players like Jason Holder, Akil Hosain, Kyle Meyers and Fabian Alan, who have a good experience not only to play international cricket but also in the T20 league around the world. In such a situation, it was expected that this team would defeat Nepal without any special trouble, but it did not happen and in the first match it had to face defeat by 19 runs.
Asif-Sandeep’s stormy half-century
This was the first win against any Test playing nation in Nepal and then it was felt that it may be just a rhythm. But within 48 hours, Nepal has proved that it was not the result of his ability. In the second match of the series played on Monday 29 September in Sharjah, Nepal batting first and lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored a strong score of 173 runs. For this, opener Asif Sheikh scored 68 in 47 balls and Sandeep Jora scored 63 runs in 39 balls.
Only 7 runs in the first 5 overs
This goal was going to prove to be even more difficult for the West Indies, which failed to score up to 149 runs in the last match and the same happened. In the powerplay itself, the Nepal bowlers stopped the Windies batting breath. With the help of tight bowling and agile fielding, Nepal dropped 2 wickets of West Indies for only 5 runs. The situation was that in the first 5 overs of Powerplay, West Indies had scored only 7 runs. But even after the powerplay, the process of falling his wicket continued.
Win from infallible bowling and tremendous fielding
On the basis of some amazing catch of Kushal Bhurtel and Gulshan Jha, Nepal won the match by 90 runs, piles to West Indies for just 83 runs in 17.1 overs and won the historic series with it. For this, Mohammad Adil Alam took 4 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs, while Bhurtel also took 3 wickets.
Along with this, Nepal also set a record of the biggest T20 win against the associate team’s full member team. Earlier this record was the name of Afghanistan, which defeated Zimbabwe by 81 runs in 2016. The third and last match of the Series will be played on Tuesday 30 September and the eyes will be on whether the Nepali team sweeps a clean sweep or not.
