The Indian women’s cricket team has achieved a remarkable milestone in Manchester by winning their first-ever T20 series against England.

In a thrilling match held at the Emirates Old Trafford, India triumphed over England by six wickets, securing a 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

The final T20 match of the series is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Birmingham. Previously, India had defeated England in a solitary T20 match in Derby in 2026. However, since then, the Indian team faced defeats in every T20 series against England, both at home and abroad. This victory marks the end of a 19-year wait for the Indian women’s team.

The Indian spin bowlers played a crucial role in this significant win. Radha Yadav (2/15), Shree Charani (2/30), and Deepti Sharma (1/29) collectively took five wickets, restricting the host team to just 126 runs for seven wickets in their 20 overs. Following this, openers Shafali Verma (31 runs) and Smriti Mandhana (32 runs) set the tone for the chase with a brisk partnership of 56 runs in just seven overs. India successfully chased down the target, scoring 127 runs for the loss of four wickets in 17 overs, with 18 balls remaining. Radha Yadav was named Player of the Match.
