Himachal Pradesh Government To Provide Rs 1500 Monthly Assistance To Women In State; Check Eligibility Criteria

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has approved the disbursement of Rs 1,500 per month to eligible daughters who complete 21 years of age in Himachal Pradesh under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi scheme. This decision was announced in the budget presented on March 17 and is now being implemented by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.

Who Can Apply For Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Yojana

To be eligible for the scheme, the following conditions must be met:

– The daughter must have completed 21 years of age between January 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.
– No family member should be in a government or semi-government job.
– There should be no pensioner in the family.
– The annual family income should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.

Implementation And Benefits Of Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Samman Nidhi

The scheme has already been launched in Spiti, and eligible women in different areas have received Rs 4,500 (three months’ honorarium) in their bank accounts. Currently, over 42,000 women between the ages of 18 and 59 are receiving Rs 1,500 per month under this scheme. Women above 60 years of age who were already receiving old-age pension have seen an increase of Rs 400 in their pension, bringing it to Rs 1,500 per month.
