This report covering the period from 20 June, 2025 to September 6, 2025 gives details of widespread destruction across the state. During the monsoon, a total of 366 deaths occurred, of which 203 were caused by rain -related incidents and 163 road accidents.
Various reasons for rainy deaths: 42 from landslides, 34 from drowning, 9 from sudden flood, 17 from cloudburst, 40 from trees or steep rocks, 15 from electricity, 28 from other reasons, 28 from lightning, 0, 0 from lightning, 3 from fire and 15 deaths due to snake bite, while avalanche did not cause any deaths.
Looking at the coverage details of rainfed deaths, Mandi had the highest number of 37 deaths, followed by Kangra (31), Kullu (25), Chamba (21), Shimla (21), Kinnaur (14), Hamirpur (13), Bilaspur (11), Una (10), Sirmaur (7), Solan (7), and Lahaul and Spati (6).
163 killed in road accidents
A total of 163 people died in road accidents, of which 22-22 in Zilawar distribution, 19 in Mandi, 19 in Kangra, 19 in Solan, 18 in Shimla, 14 in Kinnaur, 14 in Kinnaur, 13 in Kullu, 12 in Una, 11 in Sirmaur, 11 in Sirmaur, 7 in Bilaspur, 3 in Hamirpur and 3 in Lahul and Spity.
Monsoon also caused heavy losses to property and infrastructure, which includes a total estimated loss of Rs 4,07,906.90 lakh, including Rs 4,00,006.50 lakh public assets and Rs 6,700.405 lakh loss.
Additionally, 3,390 houses and 40 huts were partially damaged, while 692 pucca houses and 83 raw houses were completely damaged. 1,464 animals in livestock loss
