New Delhi: The second season of Highway Heroes, initiated by Shriram Finance and TV9 Network, aims to raise awareness and empower truck drivers across the country through education in health, finance, and technical skills. This campaign has already provided thousands of drivers with free health check-ups, yoga training, and information on both physical and mental health. Additionally, it offers financial training and technical knowledge.
As part of this campaign, drivers can obtain a “Level 4 Certificate,” recognized by the Government of India, equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade. This certificate is beneficial during the renewal of Heavy Vehicle Licenses and opens up new employment opportunities.
The next campaign event will be held on July 31 and August 1 at Instant Transport Solution, NH-8, Jaipur Highway, Bilaspur, Haryana. Drivers can participate in several important sessions, including yoga, financial training, and tuberculosis (TB) awareness, without incurring any costs.
Sessions Benefiting Drivers:
1. Yoga Sessions
Expert trainers from The Yoga Institute will conduct “Truck Yoga,” designed specifically for truck drivers. These yoga exercises aim to alleviate physical fatigue, reduce back pain, and lower mental stress associated with long hours of driving.
2. Financial Training Sessions
In these sessions, experts from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will impart crucial knowledge about financial literacy, including topics like Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), safe investment strategies, and tips to avoid cyber fraud. The objective is to empower truck drivers not just on the roads but also financially.
3. TB Awareness Sessions
This session, run by Piramal Swasthya, aims to educate drivers about the symptoms, treatment, and prevention of tuberculosis (TB). Drivers will also learn about government schemes that provide financial assistance and free treatment to TB patients.
Truck drivers do more than just operate vehicles; they play a significant role in driving the nation’s economy forward. Their role is pivotal, so it is important to prioritise their health, safety, and skills. The Highway Heroes Season 2 campaign by TV9 Network and Shriram Finance is committed to this mission. The professional training and certification provided in collaboration with the Logistics Skill Council (LSC) not only help drivers improve their work performance but also guide them toward a brighter and more respectable future.
