IMD Heavy Rain Alert: Torrential rains continue in many states of the country. Today i.e. on August 14, Delhi has been raining since morning, which affected the normal life. Now in such a situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Madhya Pradesh and western Uttar Pradesh.

Torrential rain will be held till 16 August

According to IMD alert, there is a threat of torrential rains in Delhi-NCR till 16 August. There is also a possibility of strong winds and lightning fall. In view of the warning of heavy rains, all the schools in Lucknow have been closed. Apart from these states, heavy rain has been warned in Telangana on August 13-14. Parts of Jammu and Kashmir are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall between August 13 to 18.

Landslide in Rishikesh

A heavy landslide occurred on Wednesday near Laxman Jhula area in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Two people went missing and two others were injured in the incident. The missing persons have been identified as Musheer of Mangalore in Uttarakhand and Ajit Pal of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The injured have been given primary treatment.

Things are serious due to cloudburst

The situation is serious due to heavy rains and cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh. Several bridges were swept away in Shimla and Lahaul-Spiti districts and more than 300 roads have to be closed. A police post was washed away due to fresh floods in the Ganvi Valley, while the bus stand and nearby shops were damaged after heavy rains in Shimla. The Meteorological Department has advised people to take precautions and keep taking updates from IMD official channels.
