Hero Xpulse 210-Rivalling Kawasaki KLX 230 Price Reduced By Almost Rs 1.31 Lakh – Here’s Why

Kawasaki KLX 230 Price Drop in India: Kawasaki’s dual-sport bike, the KLX 230, has seen a substantial price cut of nearly Rs 1.31 lakh in India. The KLX 230 was previously priced at Rs 3.30 lakh, but with the price drop, it now costs Rs 1.99 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). This is thanks to the model being locally manufactured – it was brought to India through a CBU (completely built-up unit) route.

Kawasaki KLX 230: Price Reduced, Performance Increased

With its updated price, the Kawasaki KLX 230 is positioned closer to the Hero Xpulse 210, which is priced from Rs 1.76 lakh to Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom). The price drop comes along with a performance update and the fresh decals. Colour options – Lime Green and Battle Grey – remain the same, though.

Powering the KLX 230 is the same 223cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with a 6-speed gearbox. However, power and torque figures now stand at 19bhp at 7,800rpm and 19Nm at 6,200rpm, respectively. Another update is in the form of the reduced wheel travel: 220mm at the front (down 20mm) and 223mm at the rear (down 27mm). Both ends also get larger disc brakes. The bike sits on 18-inch wheels with tyres measuring 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear.

At 139kg (kerb), the KLX 230 weighs a substantial 29kg less than the standard Hero Xpulse 210. Its seat height is 880mm, 20mm lower than the Kawasaki KLX230R S, which is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.94 lakh. The KLX230R S is deemed illegal on public roads; thus, it misses out on an instrument cluster, headlamp, taillamp, and turn indicators.
