On August 4, the auto sector shares saw a good increase, while the sales of passenger vehicles did not increase much in July and the demand looked a bit weak. The Nifty Auto Index climbed 1.51% to 23,764.90’s Intra-Day High on Monday. Almost all auto shares appeared in the green mark. Only MRF shares broke around 1%.
TVS surpasses Hero MotoCorp here
The TVS motor was the highest contributing share in the Nifty Auto Index, which rose by 3.66%. Apart from this, Hero MotoCorp (3.48%), Tube Investments of India (3.07%), Bharat Forge (2.5%), Eicher Motors (2.21%) and Exide India (1.99%) were also in top gains.
The TVS Motor said on Friday that its total sales increased by 29% to 4,56,350 units in July 2025, as compared to 3,54,140 units in July last year. The company’s two-wheelers’ sales increased by 29% to 4,38,790 units, which was 3,39,676 units in July 2024.
The Chennai company also increased by 21% to 3,08,720 units, which was 2,54,250 units this month last year. Similarly, Hero MotoCorp sales increased by 21% to 4,49,755 units in July 2025, compared to 3,70,274 units last year. Domestic sales were 4,12,397 units, which was 3,47,535 units in July last year.
The domestic sales of Eicher Motors’ Royal Enfield Unit also increased by 25% to 76,254 units, compared to 61,208 units last year. Mother’s stock also saw a rise of 1.87%. After this, the shares of Ashok Leyland (1.85%), Bosch Limited (1.78%), Bajaj Auto (1.66%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.40%) also increased. Bosch Limited will release the results of its June quarter on Thursday.
However, the domestic sales of Bajaj Auto declined by 13% to 1,83,143 units in July, which was 2,10,997 units in July last year. The total sales of commercial vehicle -making company Ashok Leyland gained 8% and the company sold 15,064 units in July.
M&M sale has 26% growth
The total sales of Mahindra & Mahindra increased by 26% on an annual basis in July and sold 83,691 units. Also, the company has changed its name to SML Mahindra Limited by purchasing 58.96% stake in commercial vehicle manufacturer SML Isuzu Limited.
Apart from this, shares of Tata Motors (0.87%), Balakrishna Industries (0.13%) and Maruti Suzuki (0.09%) were also in the lead after the July sales report. Maruti Suzuki sent 1,37,776 passenger vehicles to dealers in July, which was 1,37,463 units in July last year, ie there was a slight increase.
Hyundai Motor India domestic sales declined by 10% to 43,973 units in July in July. Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle dispatch also declined by 12% to 39,521 units in July.
