Citroen C3X First Teaser: Citroen India has dropped the first teaser of what appears to be the upcoming C3X SUV, which is expected to launch soon in the country. The model in question could be either an all-new model or a new variant of the Basalt SUV, which is already on sale at Rs 8.32 lakh (starting price, ex-showroom). 

Citroen C3X: Teaser Details

The teaser reveals a blacked-out grille with horizontal slats, as well as projector headlamps and split daytime running lamps at the front. Sides feature an outside rear-view mirror with a turn indicator and a small camera setup, in addition to alloy wheels with chunky tyres. The rear fascia is shaped by a double chevron logo and the C3X badging. The double chevron logo can also be seen slapped on a sport hubcap. More details are awaited.  

Citroen C3X: Engine Specifications, Instrumentation

Under the hood, the C3X is anticipated to get the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine as the Basalt. The Basalt offers a choice of a naturally aspirated and a turbocharged engine. The former belts out 82bhp and 115Nm with a manual gearbox, while the latter makes 110bhp and 190Nm/250Nm. The turbo engine gets two transmission options – manual and automatic. In terms of instrumentation, a 10.0-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster are on the cards.

Along with the teaser, Citroen also unveiled its 2.0 strategy outlining plans to focus on the following: scaling up efforts to increase localisation, deeper customer engagement, wider sales and service network, and developing more products in line with Indian market requirements. As part of its strategy, Citroen will introduce the updated version of the Basalt, C3, and the Aircross soon. These version will be differentiated by its design upgrades, in-cabin tech, and comfort-enhancing features.
