When authorities, experts and adults- tell people to stay away from picturesque-looking shallow rivers and waterfalls in the rainy season- there is mostly a very good reason for it.
There have been several heart-wrenching instances, where a fun trip to the waterfalls ended up in a gruesome accident, all because people did NOT see the ‘water’ coming. No, it’s not the water that is supposed to be in such water bodies, it’s more about the ‘extra’ gallons that result in flooding. Teaching something similar in a rather terrifying way, a video was shared online. The clip was allegedly of the Waimea Falls in US’ Hawaii. The fall looked nice and calm at first, however, the entire thing turned into pure chaos after a flash flood took over the fall in a matter of just a few seconds.
The dirt leading to zero visibility in the water only made the flooding further scary to look at. Times Now could not confirm the exact location and authenticity of the post.
As soon as the video went viral, netizens began to react in several ways. Most recalled their own similar stories, while some called the clip a much-needed lesson for people who take such flash flooding lightly.
The video was shared on , by the handle ‘makaiclicks’. The post was shared a while back and pulled more than 106K views.

“How did you know when to start filming,” a user said. “What’s happening upstream for the waters to be so muddy?” added a second person. “That was cool, where is that?” commented a third person.
“Used to live swimming here as a kid. Before they made everybody wear life jackets and charge and fee to go in,” commented a fourth person. “When did this flash flood event occur?” asked another confused netizen.
“Been there in similar circumstances many years ago on our honeymoon. Sounded like a freight train or helicopter was coming. We quickly climbed up a bank. Luckily no one was hurt or killed. Wild,” recalled another person.
