The legendary actor passed away on November 24 in Mumbai at the age of 89, leaving the Indian film fraternity and millions of admirers in deep mourning.
Three days after his demise, the Dream Girl of the Hindi Film Industry took to her official X handle to express the magnitude of her grief and honour the man she described as the centre of her world.
Hema Malini pens emotional tribute to Dharmendra
In her tribute, Hema remembered Dharmendra with a note that reflected both love and longing. “Dharam ji… He was many things to me. Loving husband, adoring father of our two girls Esha & Ahaana, friend, philosopher, guide, poet, my ‘go to’ person in all times of need — in fact, he was everything to me! And always has been through good times and bad,” she wrote, pairing her message with a heart emoji.
Her words painted an intimate picture of their life together, filled with warmth and mutual admiration. She also reflected on Dharmendra’s effortless bond with her family, adding, “He endeared himself to all my family members with his easy, friendly ways, always showing affection and interest in all of them.”

Dharmendra’s passing has been marked by an outpouring of grief across the country. The actor, who defined an era of Hindi cinema with films like Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke, and Phool Aur Patthar, was cremated in Mumbai on Monday in the presence of his family. He is survived by Hema Malini, his first wife, Prakash Kaur, and his six children: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, Ahana Deol, Ajeeta, and Vijeta.
