Actress Helly Shah has opened up about her role as Arohi in the upcoming series ‘Ishqa Ishqa’, describing the character as a complex woman whose intelligence, vulnerability and intense emotions make her unpredictable.
Helly said Arohi’s approach to love was one of the aspects that attracted her to the role. According to the actress, Arohi loves Kabir with complete intensity but struggles to distinguish between love and possession.
“Arohi loves Kabir with absolute intensity, but for her, love and possession are almost the same thing. She doesn’t believe in halfway emotions,” Helly said.
She added that Arohi is not merely obsessive but is also intelligent, strategic and deeply emotional. The character’s ability to shift between vulnerability and a potentially dangerous side, she said, made the role particularly challenging and exciting.
Satyajeet Dubey, who plays Kabir, described his character as a sensitive man trapped in an increasingly difficult situation. While Suhani brings peace and emotional clarity into his life, Arohi’s intense presence repeatedly draws him back into circumstances he is trying to leave behind.
Anushka Kaushik, who plays Suhani, said her character is grounded, emotionally aware and believes that relationships should be built on trust and personal space. She added that Suhani’s quiet strength becomes increasingly visible as the story progresses.
Amogh Dusad, Director and Head of AVOD Content, Prime Video India, said ‘Ishqa Ishqa’ explores love when it becomes entangled with obsession, control and the fear of letting go. He described the series as being driven by the contrasting forces of chaos and calm, intensity and stability.
The makers released the trailer on social media on Monday, introducing Arohi, Kabir and Suhani and the complicated emotional conflict connecting their lives.
Written by Rajesh Bachchani and directed by Amit Kumar Jha, ‘Ishqa Ishqa’ will begin streaming on Prime Video from October 7.
